Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

It will be interesting to see what the SAR says when it comes back.

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

Update.
My MP has agreed to take this up ''at the highest level''. I'll update on any responses as and when but I'm not holding my breath at this stage.

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

Good news Eezy.  Well done for pursuing the matter.

Did you write to UKBF querying the officer's statement?

Since my MP is going straight to the top I thought I'd let him do it for now.

No sign of it yet-40 days are up on Monday. They really do stick their fingers up at the rules.
Ah well it's something else to pass on to my MP and will be an excuse to chase him up over the complaint to the Director General of BF.

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have not yet received my Subject Access Request which you acknowledged receipt of on 21/08/2013.

This means that the 40 days you have to deal with my request by law has expired today. If I do not receive a full and proper response to my SAR within the next couple of days I will report the matter to the ICO.

complaints@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk

This email inbox is for complaints and compliments only......hahaha...how about an FOI to see how many compliments they have had?

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

SAR now 7 days overdue. Coffee machine response to complaint.

''The reason for the delay is that we are experiencing problems obtaining all or part of your data. We are endeavoring to resolve this and as soon as we receive the records we will complete our actions and send the disclosure bundle''

Yeah right......

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

Eezyrider, that is very poor news.

I am not familiar with this proceedure, but is there a penalty for non compliance?

Will you forward it your MP?

JMK

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

They are answerable to Information Commissioners Office under the Data Protection Act I believe.
I will be passing my complaints on to my MP.
I sent one SAR by post to UKBA and another online to HMRC. The online one is also due by Wednesday.

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

In addition to my posted SAR to BF and after Turbulentupstart and MRC pointed out that you could do it free online, both Mrs eezy and myself sent off SAR's to HMRC. These are also both past the 40 day deadline now.
Problem; There does not appear to be a way of following up these SAR's by email. All HMRC websites say complaint is by post or telephone. Post will take forever and phone is not a good way to do things. Also you cannot complain to ICO until HMRC complaints procedure is exhausted.

Does anybody have an email address for HMRC complaints?

Thanks dd. Unfortunately BF complaints don't deal with HMRC SAR's.They are 2 separate entities. Mrs eezy tried it this morning and had 2 emails back requesting the correct ref number. It's bloody stupid that BF only accept SAR's by post but you can then follow up by email whereas HMRC accept SAR's online but you have to follow up by post or telephone.http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/confused.png

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

Just back from Hull, our latest trip. Apart from passport control no bad guys to be seen anywhere, so still don't know if we're ''on the computer''.
Uneventful trip apart from an unpleasant experience with Hull port security who turned everything over in the boot of the car, screwed our coats up and then said we have attitude! I am now on a mission to get the team leader removed from frontline duties and if possible out of the job altogether.
Had the pleasure of warrior and Mrs W's company for the trip and had a few games of cards. How does a guy keep cards up his sleeve when he is wearing short sleeves.....http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

no problems at all boarding/disembarking.

did spot a few runners about, when we were walking down to the gaunlet, one group of runners decided to split up and one of there group thought they would tag along and use us as cover, as we walked past about 3 ukbf and one of the officers started to follow us,i thought here we go again, but the ukbf pulled the person who tagged onto us,serves em right ha ha.

quite a few strange looking people on the shiphttp://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

Apparently this is now with the Immigration Minister and we are awaiting an 'expedited' response from him.

Re: Next time your goods and car will be seized!

SAR to UKBA finally arrived today-47 days overdue- after informing ICO and my MP and requesting return of my £10 fee!

''..... Your SAR was completed on Oct 7th but due to an oversight was not dispatched to you.....''

Date on the printout was 4th Sept.

SAR contains one stop at Dover with no details and our stop at Hull Aug 2013.
Hull stop contains 'baggage challenge sheet' and Mrs eezy ain't happy 'cos it's got all her details on it as well, like DOB, passport no., what goods she was carrying etc. Also contains our SOT, both our trip logs and calcs. No other trips are listed.
On this sheet it's got 'Reason for interception' and box T&S is ticked. Then where it says 'Reason' the line is blank. Can anybody elaborate?
