Re: WON!!!

Congratulations on your success!!!

I now have to ask the inevitable questions.

1. Was a Section 144 certificate issued?
2. Did the judge award you any costs?

No I have not been issued with section 144, is it important?
Judge did not award me any costs, just said ukbf must pay me

First thing first, does anyone know whom I need to contact first? And how long it normally takes before I get my money back? Can I ask some sort of compensation as well?
I will upload all letters regarding the case , hope it will be helpful to some poor traveller like myself trying to fight his goods back

Again, massive thank you to everyone on here who gave some advice and information, you are superstars  (grin)

From our FAQ's in the help section:-

I won at magistrates court/ Crown court but they issued a s144 certificate.

A s144 cert will usually be asked for by BF's barrister if they lose. If it is granted it means they acted reasonably in seizing your goods even though they were wrong. A s144 protects customs from any further action by you in claiming compensation other than the cost of your goods. Some friendly judges may award you a small amount of court costs also.

Re: WON!!!

Congratz and a tip of the Blocked Dwarf fedora to you for fighting on and not letting yourself be ground down. The more who are prepared to fight all the way the more likely it is that BF will be forced to keep to the law and their own guidelines.

Re: WON!!!

hi. well done. wait 21 days from the hearing date and than get on NPSU they will sort the money for goods. it will take at least few weeks. if cert 144 was`t granted I would fight for more money than just cost of goods.
