Just back from the Bi-Annual Choc Run

Arrived back this morning aboard the POB, Nice trip nice friendly staff. Food ok too.
Nice weather in Ostend, Took the coastal tram up to Adinkerke, passed a few hours came back by bus using the same ticket. 6 euros to travel all day.

In the end bought from Martine, British Tobacco opposite the train station. Prices comparable with other shops. I always find it amazing when people laugh at my black bag with my Chocs on display. For me its a tried and trusted way of keeping them for our own consumption. Unlike others with large suitcases filled with multiple brands, I'm-sure C&E are not daft and can spot the genuine shopper.

Only new thing was Humberside Police checking passports just pass the PCP

Ahwell update all the logs and get ready for our next trip.

Garry

Glad it went well.

Any migrants on the bus? http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

How far is the walk from the tram to Adinkerke ?

Where do you get the bus from at the Adinkerke end and where does it drop you?

About 15 minutes, Taking in the lovely views.

The Belgium Police had 3 migrants? in De-Panne station for questioning.
What we did notice was more and more De-Koop signs the closer you got to France. Hope that isn't a sign of things to come.

Garry well stocked up with 5 moths of Chocs.

Re: Just back from the Bi-Annual Choc Run

Humberside police ha ha,i was once refused entry to the uk at passport control,i quiered as to why? and the police stepped in,even though they were not asked to do so,arrogant gets,i did send a complaint and was assured they had no right to interfere. Also they have no right to demand to see peoples passports, after pcp your right to enter the uk has been established if immigration satisfied your eligble to enter.

The reason i was refused entry,or more like delayed entry, was to give ukbf search team time to get ready ,they came upto pcp and escorted me to the search area ha ha.

On the next occasion i was told to wait at pcp,i refused and walked on past, even though they still had my passport,i walked down to the search area and approached the first ukbf i saw and declared my purchases, saved them and my time and my passport was soon returned.

I've always found that the POB is the best boat to travel on Gaz.

Quite a bit cheaper than the train from Bruges that I took last time I must admit. I just don't fancy the stopping at all stations that has been mentioned, how long does it ACTUALLY take to get from Zeebrugge on the coach transfer and then the tram to Adinkerke Gaz ? I presume it drops you off at the train station as IIRC there were other tracks there when me 'n' my lad went last time.

Yeah, when I did the tally-up after my last trip I worked it out that I had only saved about another fiver I think going to Adinkerke instead of buying from Bruges or Ostend. I like seeing all the peeps getting off the boat with a few empty suitcases and seeing the same people getting back on with them loaded up to the hilt.......then I come walking through with a cheap trolley with two 6KG boxes of Turner, papers and filters, all on display. http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/grin.png
The only things that are hidden from view are all the choccies, biscuits and the like that I also tend to buy.

I'm "toying" with the idea of trying to give up for several reasons (dunno if I actually will or not - lol) but judging by the stock I have atm if I don't, you will have to lmk when you're going Gaz and we can meet up. http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

Te koop - for sale.

Be a good few around Adinkerke I guess if Brexit happens.

Actually, thinking about it, If UK does drop out I can see that Hull route becoming freight only. There won't be the smokers on board for sure. There's been rumblings about that route for some time.
