Gloomy outlook for the pound.

Whether or not politics is of interest to you or not, as a traveller, exchange rates should be.

Last week even an increase in the interest rate failed to lift the pound. Previously sterling would have advanced by maybe 1.5 eurocents at this news but it did not budge. The generally held opinion is that there will be no Brexit deal as time is running out and this will cause sterling to plunge meaning your goods abroad will cost more. The advantage is slowly being eroded anyway.

So if you need to do a trip, sooner rather than later would be better.
