BF calling two witnesses

Ongoing case.

I'm a bit baffled because BF are calling 2 witnesses to court, the officer who interviewed our member and what appears to be a manager from the solicitors office.

Why would this be, has anybody experienced this before? Any suggestions welcome.

Only thing I can think of is the barrister is not sure of his ground and is needing legal backup. It is a first time for us in this particular court so maybe that is what they do in this area.......
