When is 50g not 50g?

Answer: When it's a pouch of Springfield!

Mrs eezy has been complaining that her baccy is not lasting as long. Obvious answer - you're smoking more.http://cdn.boardhost.com/emoticons/happy.png

But she was adamant to the point where she got her digital kitchen scales out and weighed a new pouch.
It weighed 40g! So the question is are we being diddled out of 20% of what we are paying for or is it normal i.e. 50g is the packed weight which is subject to shrinkage?

Assuming this is the norm it has wider implications. Not heard of it recently but not so long ago BF took to weighing individual rollups during interview to calculate how many one gets from a pouch. Based on mrs eezy's experiment this would throw their calculations out by 20% (in our favour).

So what do your freshest pouches weigh?

Yep. Weighed 3 full packs of 10  They varied from 445 to 465 gs. Weighed them 3 times and got the same reading off each pack every time.

According to Piotrek's answer, we're almost one pouch per pack down. Problem is calibrated scales are needed for a definite conclusion.
