Stopped at Gatwick

On the way from Lanzarote, stopped before entering through cumstom channel to read the notice board, was't sure if I should go through green or blue. It does't really matter for me as I was within my allowance. Looked at one of them, he looked at me and decided to stop me, my wife and kids. Was kind of prepared for it as I gave her kids passports so she can go through and I can stay and argue with them. Been asked for passport and to open luggage, asked them for reasonable ground, was told they have then, so told them to enter these in the notebook, otherwise they don't get to see my passport or luggage. I was told I may get arrested, told them to do so if they with to do it. One of them run to get notebook as none of them had it on them, working without tools? Soon she started writing in the notebook I gave them my luggage, near the end asked if she would like to see my passport, she said yes. So gave her that. In the mean time other women called supervisor, he came after we were all sorted, had little chat with he, he confirmed to me that they must have the ground (I was told different by other officers) and that they have to enter them in the notebook. At the end we did shake hands and it was end of it, free to go ;) nothing to declare
As I had nothing on me so no recoder on and no SOT, did put recording on my phone while I was waiting for senior officer, will see at home what quality the recoding is.

Re: Stopped at Gatwick

Great innit when you have to tell them how to do their Job!

We were stopped at Portsmouth once. Told them what we had and she asked where did it come from. I said Belgium. She said Belgium, so you didn't buy them in the EU?

I won't repeat what I said in front of a lot of people but she disappeared very quickly

Re: Stopped at Gatwick

Did they give you a ground (ie) reason for the stop?

Re: Stopped at Gatwick

It is great, its great when senior officer is saying that you were right
They did't give me no grounds but she was writing something in the notebook, I was't asked ro sign it or anything like that. Will have to give it few weeks anf apply for SAR to see what it was.
