June trip.

Found a cheap hotel at Hythe 10 mins from the tunnel so cost £129 for 2 nights and the fare.

There were no security checks at all at the Tunnel. French control point glanced at the passports and we were waved straight through onto the train. Went up to Adinkerke and the bargain of the day was Glen's vodka at £5-90 per bottle.
Went to Auchan at Dunkirk and there were dozens of migrants roaming about and a heavy presence of gendarmes, so they are still being allowed to gather. It seems they are camped out at the back of Auchan around the lake.

Called at Pidou, Dunkirk. Still a few bargains to be had there.

Back at the tunnel things were different from on the way out. One control point open causing a backlog of vehicles. Asked where we had been and of course as soon as you mention Adinkerke - ''Pull into the garage''.
Where have you been?
How long abroad?
What did you buy?........just cigars and alcohol, no cigarettes or HRT......
Then proceeded to search the car. Ripped open the wine cases, threw my coat on the floor and generally tried to be as sour and disruptive as possible. I swear if she could have planted some goods in the car she would have! She asked where we were going, I said hotel in Hythe.....which one?....told her and she said oh yeah I know that one.

Eventually said OK I'll open the door, drive straight through. I know they have a job to do but having a real bad attitude is not going to achieve anything. Nasty cow. Hope she reads this.

Re: June trip.

Very poor Eezy.
The reality is that if you wearing a dirty old pair of pyjamas, sandals, had a long beard, and had a rocket launcher on your back you'd have been waved straight through
As an Englishman you're lower than a snakes belly.

Re: June trip.

Good grief eezy, and we know our stuff too and know they are not all that bad... imagine if it was the first time you had been asked to pull over and you got that sort of treatment.
