A16 - ''sangliers'' cause accidents.

Three wild boars were killed on the A16 while crossing in front of traffic. 2 cars had to be recovered after suffering 'extensive' engine damage while the third was able to continue.

This happened halfway between Boulogne and Calais. Most of us shoppers travel the opposite direction towards Belgium but if you are going that way take care.

The sangliers were on the restaurant menus next day

Re: A16 - ''sangliers'' cause accidents.

From Wikipedia:
wild boar meat is leaner and healthier than pork,[87] being of higher nutritional value and having a much higher concentration of essential amino acids.[88] Most meat-dressing organisations agree that a boar carcass should yield 50 kg (110 lb) of meat on average. Large specimens can yield 15–20 kg (33–44 lb) of fat, with some giants yielding 30 kg (66 lb) or more. A boar hide can measure 300 dm2, and can yield 350–1000 grams of bristle and 400 grams of underwool

Extensively hunted in France but apparently they breed at an alarming rate.

Must be breeding well or getting hungry - one shot by police near the town centre last night.
