Since there is no longer free movement of goods our work here is done.
The forum will remain for social purposes as long as it does but for existing members only.
The forum is suddenly getting bombed out with spammers using VPN's making it impossible to detect who is legit and who is not. I've deleted 11 today alone plus 1 that escaped the net and posted shite.
Thank you all for your past contributions. The site will still be monitored but only on a night watchman basis.

The following I have copied and pasted on duty free allowances.
Alcohol allowances: what can you bring back from France?Perhaps most notable for UK travellers to France is that there are now strict limits on the amount of alcohol and tobacco products that can be brought back to the UK duty-free. The following amounts are per person (over 18s only).
- 42 litres of beer
- 18 litres (24 bottles) of wine
- 4 litres (6 bottles) of spirits or liquors over 22% alcohol
- 9 litres (12 bottles) of sparkling or fortified wine, or other drinks under and up to 22% alcohol
Not sure if it will add to much of a saving with the price of diesel now but it brings back fond memories!

Regarding ourselves, we categorically do not condone smuggling and neither do we condone the current tactics used against legitimate cross-border shoppers by UKBA/Border Force and HMRC. The current tactics benefit both Customs and smugglers alike.
